Slinningsbålet 2018
Every year at the midsummer celebration, many volunteers gathers to build the bonfire also known as "Slinningsbålet".
This is a large bonfire that in 2016, took the world record with a hight of 47.7meters. No machinery is used when building the bonfire. It is built by hand and a strong teamwork. The midsummer-bonfire, in Norwegian Sankthansaften, is one of the oldest bonfire celebrations here in Norway. It was believed that the flames would protect from evil spirits, wich according to the old folklore, where more active this day.
